Cortina and Garmisch 2024

Cortina d’Ampezzo Italy, Downhill Super G, 27-28/1/2024.

Olimpia delle Tofane continues to be mischievous (too many queens and your majesties present) because in addition to creating problems with reading the route, it shuffles the cards by giving different possibilities to new and well-known skiers.

The Italy of Sofia Goggia, Federica Brignone, Marta Bassino, Laura Pirovano, De Lago and Runggaldier disappoint the predictions (even personal ones) divided between victories and podiums. Sofia Goggia still can’t find a podium on her own, but the finals in Saalbach in March are still far away. At Plan de Corones further possibility of victory or podium.

Downhill 27/1

First downhill victory for Ragnhild Mowinckel in 1.33.50, +0.35 Jacqueline Wiles after third place in 2018, +0.44 Sofia Goggia.

Super G 28/1

Lara Gut-Behrami plays poker and with her husband Valon (married in 2018) could soon buy a second home right in Cortina. In ten years, to 2014, 2017 and 2018 you add the present year.

Lara Gut-Behrami wins in 1.20.75, +0.21 Stephanie Venier back on the podium, +0.41 Romane Miradoli.

Garmisch, two Super Gs, 27-28/1/2024

Nils Allegre 1.11.92, +0.18 Guglielmo Bosca, +0.25 Loic Meillard

Marco Odermatt 1.10.13, +0.30 Raphael Haaser, +0.61 Franjo von Allmen.

Novelties and confirmations with Marco Odermatt increasingly leading the world cup.

Next: Kronplatz, Garmisch for women while Chamonix for men.
