Technical disciplines before fast races. Kranjska Gora women, Adelboden men. Weather not good with the hope that it will be nice for the next races. It is not always necessary to take risks, because the season is still long.
Kranjska Gora Women’s Giant Slalom. Valerie Grenier recovers three positions in the second run and wins by accelerating the pace between the gates, 1.50.51 Lara Gut-Behrami climbs to second place +0.37, rediscovering the verve of a few weeks ago. Federica Brignone drops to third place +0.51 and cannot always recover even if the first place times are very tight. Petra Vlhova drops from first to fourth place, not interpreting the track at her best.
Kranjska Gora Women’s Slalom. Petra Vlhova wins confirming the first heat, 1.47.62 Second Lena Duerr who also confirms +0.72, while with thirteen positions gained A J Hurt +0.87 skis with the wild card in her pocket becoming the winner. Among the noteworthy recoveries: 16 positions by Chiara Pogneaux and 15 by Lara Colturi.
Mikaela Shiffrin in a dull and not brilliant weekend. Placed in the Giant, she comes out in the Slalom. Vlhova returns among the top places and Brignone confirms herself, even if for her the slalom is one less discipline for the general crystal globe.
Adelboden, Men’s Giant Slalom. On the epic Gigante track the battle is between the contenders for the overall. Odermatt wins at home but Kilde achieves the first podium of his career in the giant slalom discipline. Marco Odermatt 1.54.06, +1.26 Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, +1.77 Filip Zubcic who recovers nine positions.
Adelboden, Men’s Slalom. The protagonists change for a very close race. Manuel Feller 1.52.62, +0.02 Atle lie Mcgrath, +0.23 Dominik Raschner with thirteen positions recovered.
Next weekend Wengen for the Men and Altenmarkt-Zauchensee for the Women.
