Nove Mesto Na Morave Championships 2024 first

Nove Mesto Na Morave, IBU Biathlon World Championships 2024.

After five races the gold medals are between France and Norway. The first with women, the second with men.

The tactic is between priority on the shooting range, giving the free technique in cross country based on the progress of the race, or forcing the pace by relying on almost zero misses. With misses on the range athlets can’t always recover. With the Individual the first one will be necessary.

Julia Simon appears in lethal form, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet is not precise from the range but strong on cross country, the Norwegians, the Swedes and Germans waiting, while Lisa Vittozzi, with an apparent Olympic calm, reduces misses to zero and also marches on skis. In the Individual she could be among the favourites, without forgetting someone now off the podium.

In men there appears to be a deal in Norway but the other nations have a poisonous tooth. Everything is always open. In the Individual, in addition to Norway, I would also be careful about some outsiders.

Mixed Relay (W+M)

France (Perrrot, Fillon Maillet, Braisaz-Bouchet, Simon) in 1.09.24 – 1+7 / 0+2, +45.2 Norway (T Boe, J Boe, Knotten, Tandrevold), 0+2 / 0+6, + 1.01.7 (Samuelsson, Ponsiluoma, H Oeberg, E Oeberg) 0+5 / 0+5. Fairly clear Transalpine dominance.

Women’s Sprint 7.5 km

France dominates with a poker. Julia Simon 20.07.5 – 0/0, +4.9 Justine Braisaz-Bouchet 1/0, +40.8 Lou Jeanmonnot 0/1, (Sophie Chauveau closes). Hard-fought race with Braisaz-Bouchet forcing herself on the bottom to recover.

Women’s Pursuit 10 km

From the gap of the previous race a new one begins. Lisa Vittozzi seventh at +1.06.3 with a 0/0/0/1 recovers for silver +46.3 from the winner Julia Simon who controls, 0/1/0/0 in 29.54.8 Bronze to Justine Braisaz-Bouchet who despite misses from the shooting range, 0/1/2/1, remains on the podium +49.3

Men’s Sprint 10 km

In business and in charge, all among themselves, are the athletes from Norway. Three for the podium in two races with some roles reversed.

Sturla Holm Laegreid in 25.23.9 – 0/0, +3.5 Johannes Thingnes Boe 1/0, +18.6 Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen 1/0.

Nine athletes in one minute. Very balanced race. Interesting conditions in free technique for several athletes.

Men’s Pursuit 12.5 Km

Top five athletes from Norway. Johannes Thingnes Boe in 32.36.9 after three misses proves he is at the top, 1/2/0/0, +28.7 Sturla Holm Laegreid 2/0/0/0, +38.5 Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen 0/0/1/2 (fourth and fifth respectively Johannes Dale-Skjevdal and Tarjei Boe).
