Winter begins and women compete in Courchevel in a slalom.
While the French think about 2030, today on the slopes Mikaela Shiffrin and Petra Vlhova are sharpening their ski edges to stay at the top.
First run and everything is clear: Mikaela Shiffrin 55.24, +0.17 Petra Vlhova. The others from +1.06 up to +3.40 for the thirtieth.
Second, entirely focused on the Vlhova/Shiffrin duo. The Slovakian starts determined, attentive but above all effective. Where her opponents make mistakes she proceeds quickly, increasing the advantage, partial after partial. Petra skis very well, better even than a gold medal final at the World Championships or Olympics. The American goes down just as well, but she doesn’t have the effectiveness of her opponent. Mikaela loses a little, but always along the track: +0.24
Petra Vlhova wins her thirtieth World Cup race in 1.48.14, +0.24 Mikaela Shiffrin, +2.06 Katharina Truppe winning in the race for third place.
In the overall Shiffrin 700, follows Brignone 557, while Vlhova extends from the rear to 491. In January 2024 further battles in a season that will still have much to show.
The women say goodbye and wish Merry Christmas, returning to Lienz in the last week of the year. Season’s Greetings.
