Schladming Austria, Giant Slalom and Slalom for evenings dedicated to skiing on a historic slope, 23-24/1/2024. Cheering crowd, unique atmosphere.

Giant Slalom

Strong superior action by Marco Odermatt who now places himself firmly at the top of the Overall World Cup. Recovering ten positions, he won the Giant Slalom in 2.10.03, reaching nineteenth in his career, the highest among active skiers. With the best time of the second heat he has no rivals, finding fluidity, fluency and leadership. +0.05 Manuel Feller who loses 1.03 in the second. Zan Kranjec takes the podium, gaining one position.

Several recoveries of the day in addition to Odermatt: 11 positions for Joan Verdu, 8 Seigo Kato, 7 Alex Vinatzer (improving in technical condition), 6 for Timon Haugan, Hannes Zingerle.

Slalom

The top three of the first run confirmed the podium in the second one skiing at their best so as not to lose positions. Linus Strasser in 1.45.20 for his fifth world cup victory, +0.28 Timon Haugan for the third podium of his career, +1.02 Clement Noel for his twenty-second. The festive atmosphere always makes the Slalom an episode apart in the FIS World Cup.

Recoveries of the day: 16 positions Fabio Gstrein, 11 Johannes Strolz, AJ Ginnis and Albert Popov.

Next appointments: speed in Garmisch-Partenkirchen 27 and 28. Cortina d’Ampezzo for three always fast races 26-28.
