Tweed fabric in Dior an heritage

by Alain Chivilò

Tweed is a fabric explored by founder Christian Dior and, collection after collection, it is always a must-have reference.

For the Men’s Spring Summer 2024 collection, Tweed is proposed in a new, youthful and contemporary range. A layering of textures that combines with trousers, blazers and jackets as well as bags such as Saddle Twin in navy and silver.

Different effects and nuances. An artisanal production from the yarn up to the finished dress. On a technical level the twill weave is refined by the graphic lines of the Cannage converted into Jacquard. Composed by a multitude of wool and cotton yarns is emphasized through a variety of embroideries.

Tweed is a fabric widely used among the various fashion houses and as in Dior it starts from a tradition born from its founder that has continued until the twentieth century.
