The Ukrainian Cultural Institution The Victor Pinchuk Foundation and the PinchukArtCentre move outside the country to promote culture through events.

60th International Art Exhibition, 2024, Venice, official collateral event: Palazzo Contarini Polignac from April 20th until August 1st, 2024: “From Ukraine: Dare to Dream, when the world is in constant fear”.

Environmental issues, resistance, resilience, lives, difficulties, sudden changes, voices, ways of understanding are for example elements to display in a tapestry of interpretations from UA to other Nations and Italy host Country.

As stated Björn Geldhof, artistic director of the PinchukArtCentre and curator of From Ukraine: Dare to Dream, the exhibition  “Provokes a challenge: dare to dream today, even as the world has reached an inflection point. Political extremes are seizing their growing momentum. Russia’s war in Ukraine unveiled an ongoing global power struggle that has brought war back to Europe”, continuing, “With this exhibition we not only share a Ukrainian platform with artists from the African, South American and Asian continent. We actively try to imagine a better future well aware and always conscious of the violent reality we live in today”.

From war to war, from war to peace, from war to nothing. A war, however local, quickly becomes international and global. The financial and economic aspects also have decisive influences that change the dynamics present before the event. On a daily and trivial basis, especially in Europe, everyone has had the opportunity to verify the increase in costs for every type of life.

The exhibition presents individual interpretations of the air in which we live, from social, to politics, to war, to discrimination, to convenience, to dialogue but at the same time non-dialogue, to the media system, to coexistence, to environmental problems for partial or total circumstances and conditions of our times.
