Two announcements of artist representation by the Hauser & Wirth Gallery in collaborations with Company and Nicola Vassell Gallery.
Ambera Wellmann in joint partnership with Company Gallery and Uman in equal partnership with Nicola Vassell Gallery.
Human and natural contradictions and opposites crowd Ambera Wellmann‘s works. In her works, human and animal figures coexist in inhomogeneous relationships within indeterminate and dissolving atmospheres. Contemporary apparitions, made current by possible Renaissance and Baroque echoes. A painting of today where in the lack of coordinates everything tends to become a composite and at the same time decomposed mixture.
As events scheduled: in January 2024, Hauser & Wirth will present new work by Wellmann as a highlight of its stand at the tenth annual edition of FOG Design + Art in San Francisco (18 – 21 January). In Fall 2024 at H&W in Soho space on Wooster Street and at Company’s nearby location on Elizabeth Street, New York. During September 2024, the artist also will be at the 15th Gwangju Biennale exhibition.
Uman traveled from Africa coming into contact with different cultures and lifestyles. In oil, acrylic, oil stick and collage, geometric, ethnic and tribal elements, various color shades, figural portions, superimpositions and unions, floral elements develop in his works, creating visual abstractions between soul and spirit.
As events scheduled: after Art Basel Miami Beach 2023, in London at Hauser & Wirth from 30 January 2024 until 1 April 2024. In October 2025, Uman’s solo exhibition at the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Connecticut.
